Self-Love, Boundaries & Trusting Yourself: What I'm Learning in 2026

Hey, dear readers,
It's been a little while since my last post, and if you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I occasionally step away from writing. The truth is, I've learned not to force creativity. I write when I feel inspired, when I have something meaningful to share, and when it genuinely feels right.
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about how fast-paced everything has become. There seems to be so much pressure to constantly create, keep up, and produce more. With social media moving at lightning speed and AI-generated content becoming increasingly common, it's easy to feel like you're falling behind if you're not posting every day.

Don't get me wrong, there's room for everyone to be creative in their own way. But sometimes I miss the slower side of content creation. The days of carefully planning photography, putting together beautiful flat lays, creating thoughtful concepts, and taking the time to tell a story through visuals and words.

That's one of the reasons I've chosen to pace myself. These days, I focus less on keeping up and more on staying connected to what feels authentic. I only post when I feel inspired, not pressured.

Today, I wanted to share a few simple practices that have been helping me stay grounded, protect my peace, and take better care of myself while inserting little moments captured through my camera lens.

1. Setting Healthy Boundaries
Learning to say no without guilt has been one of the biggest acts of self-love. Not every invitation, request, or opportunity deserves your energy.

2. Trusting My Intuition
I've started paying closer attention to my instincts and feelings. More often than not, they guide me in the right direction.

3. Not Letting Other People's Opinions Define My Goals
Everyone will have an opinion about how you should live your life. At some point, you have to trust yourself enough to follow your own path.

4. Staying Consistent With What Brings Me Joy
Whether it's writing, photography, reading, or just taking time for myself, consistency in the things I enjoy has made a huge difference.

5. Meditation and Grounding
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or start spiralling, taking a few quiet moments to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with myself helps bring me back to centre.

6. Respecting My Health and Self-Care
Looking after my physical and mental wellbeing isn't a luxury; it's a necessity, lol.

7. Letting Go of What No Longer Aligns
Not everything is meant to stay in our lives forever. Sometimes growth means releasing what no longer feels right.

8. Supporting the People Who Support Me
I've become more intentional about investing my time and energy in people who genuinely care, encourage, and uplift me.

9. Lifting Others Up
Kindness costs nothing. A compliment, a supportive message, or simply being there for someone can make more of an impact than we realise.

10. Doing What Feels Safe and Comfortable
I've stopped feeling the need to explain every decision. If something feels right for me, that's enough reason.

Life isn't a race, and I've learned that protecting my peace is far more valuable than keeping up with expectations. These small practices may seem simple, but they've helped me create a life that feels calmer, healthier, and more aligned with who I am.

I hope to write more articles soon; keep your fingers crossed, everyone lol. Also, I'd love to know, what's one thing you've been doing lately to take better care of yourself?

I am glad I get to read your write-ups again; you are always very intentional with your posts and tips. I am in complete agreement with this post. I feel recently at my workplace I have been practicing setting boundaries; it is not easy, especially with certain people and how they receive things but it surely is something i intend to keep practising.
